Mr. Sirs, I am writing this letter to share with you the great experiences that I have had with the Flotec Oxysavrr oxygen conserving devices that I recently purchased from your company. Initially my purchase choice was based upon three factors. First as always economics plays a role in any purchase decision. The purchase price for the Oxysavrr is less than competing devices on the market. The pneumatic design negates the need for expensive battery packs, specialty regulators and cannulas. The second factor I considered was ease of use. Call time for patient reeducation on difficult to use or assemble equipment is very pricey and leads to decreased levels of customer satisfaction. The third factor I considered was reliability. I had another brand of oxygen conserver in use and was very disappointed with ever ending service calls for dead batteries, leaking supply tubing, or the infamous "I can't hear it clicking, will you come out and check the device so I can go to church tomorrow?" The batteries, supply tubing, and cannulas were so difficult to remove and reinstall that I would have to send an equipment technician out for these supposedly simple chores. Again the pneumatic design saves me time and money as it has no batteries or supply tubing flanges to fail and best of all I don't have to trouble shoot the hearing aid versus conserver click failure. The very first Oxysavrr I dispensed convinced me that I had made a wise purchase choice. I went out to see one of my high use oxygen patients to evaluate him for a conserver. I had placed the box containing the Oxysavrr on the sofa between the patient and myself. While I was checking the patient's oxygen concentrator, he removed the device from the box, assembled it, placed it on an oxygen cylinder and installed the nasal cannula by himself without any instructions. His only question was "how do I know when the tank is empty?" I pointed out the color-coded gauge and that was all he needed to get comfortable with the Oxysavrr. This patient has been on oxygen for six months, he has no other conserver experience. He has gone from using 15 E tanks a month to 5. The only concern with this patient was Physician acceptance. His physician requested before and after oximetry. I was very surprised to see that the patient’s oxygen saturation actually increased with the switch from 2 lpm on his concentrator to 2 lpm on his Oxysavrr (93% before vs. .95% after). Every experience that I have had with the Oxysavrr has been positive. My patients comment on the ease of use. One of my patients is legally blind; the color-coded gauges make the device much easier for her to use. Most of my oxygen patients are older and manual dexterity unfortunately often deteriorates as we age. I have had many comments on how easy the dome handle is to use. The simple nipple adapters are much easier for my patients to use with the cannula than the flanges used with other devices. The Oxysavrr is even gaining new oxygen patients for us. A gentleman came into the store to request supplies for his existing pneumatic conserving device. I asked him how he liked the device, he complained that it was too loud and it dried out his nares! He also commented that his current oxygen provider was not happy with the fact that he was using 4-5 D cylinders of oxygen per day. I showed the gentleman the Oxysavrr, let him try it out and I now have a new oxygen client. As it turns out he now uses only one D cylinder a day; the other device was too small and difficult for him to turn off! He has no complaints about nasal dryness at this time. He felt that the oxygen bursts were responsible for the dryness while he was using the other device. The company that was supplying his oxygen has since called and come by to view the competition. In the past I received at least one customer complaint per week regarding oxygen-conserving devices. In the last 3 months since switching my patients to the Oxysavrr I have not had one complaint or service call regarding these devices. Thank you for providing my patients and I a piece of equipment that is economical, easy to use and reliable. Sincerely, Pandora London, RRT Respiratory Coordinator, Regional Medical Equipment
